Shell Structure:
Thin.
Equivalve:
Equivalve.
Equilateral:
Slightly inequilateral, beaks just in front of the midline.
Tumidity:
Somewhat tumid.
Outline:
Trigonal, wedge-shaped. Maximum height at beaks. Posterior dorsal and posterior ventral margins tapering to a narrowly rounded posterior. Anterior broadly rounded.
Contour:
Umbos well developed, anterior slope very steep. Midline almost angulate.
Sculpture:
Of weak co-marginal undulations crossed by 10-12 rather low radial ridges over the middle and posterior areas. Anterior slope appears smooth, but whole surface covered in minute prickly tubercules.
Margin:
Smooth.
Ligament:
External, on a deeply inset resilifer behind the beaks.
Hinge:
Hinge teeth lacking.
Periostracum:
Thin, beige to straw-coloured.
Colour:
Nacreous white.
