To size: To 7 mm. Shell Structure: Fragile, semitransparent or opaque. Equivalve: LV slightly more convex than RV. Equilateral: Equilateral. Tumidity: Compressed. Outline: Disc circular; anterior ears slightly larger and more demarcated from disc than posterior ears. Byssal notch well developed, ctenolium absent.
Sculpture: Of closely and regularly spaced co-marginal fine lamellae on both valves. Colour: Shell white.
Distribution & Ecology
A deep water species known from the Porcupine Sea Bight, Bay of Biscay and off western Iceland at bathyal and upper abyssal depths, 500-2200m.
