Outline:
Subovate with a short, broad posterior rostrum. Umbos strongly developed. Anterior dorsal slope steep. Anterior broadly rounded. Posterior dorsal slope steep to relatively short and weakly concave dorsal margin of the rostrum. Rostrum narrowly rounded, junction with ventral margin scarcely sinuous. Ventral margin evenly rounded.
Contour:
Rostrum not set off from body of shell by deep sinus.
Sculpture:
Widely-spaced, co-marginal ridges over anterior these becoming indistinct about the midline and fading to the posterior. Rostrum with indistinct radial ridges.
Margin:
Smooth.
Ligament:
Internal, on a narrow, posteriorly projecting chondrophore.
Hinge:
Hinge-plate thin with a single posterior lateral in the RV.
Periostracum:
Thin, transparent.
