Distribution & Ecology

Known from two lower bathyal locations in British waters, from close to the Wyville-Thomson Ridge and from the Porcupine Sea Bight. Along with the Norwegian record this suggests a wide distribution at bathyal depths along the Atlantic margin and at outer shelf depths in the colder Norwegian subarctic waters. The gills harbour symbiotic bacteria and Atopomya is presumed to be chemosymbiotic.

Depth Range
Continental Margin Zone (200 - 500m)
