Remarks
Sowerby, 1875: “Specimen unique, in the collection of Dr Prevost”.
Originally named Conus gracilis Sowerby (3rd), 1875. Renamed Conus hopwoodi by Tomlin in 1936 as it was preoccupied by both C. gracilis Sowerby (1st), 1823 and C. gracilis Wood, 1828. This specimen is therefore the holotype for both Conus gracilis Sowerby (3rd), 1875 and Conus hopwoodi Tomlin, 1936.
