Type evidence:
In the section of his paper discussing the Dillwyn collection Davy Dean (1936) wrote: “There are four specimens which should be considered as lectotypes :-
Venus tiara Dillwyn: Descript. Cat.,1817, p.162. This agrees in details of sculpture with the description but is larger than the dimensions given.”

Dean does not indicate that he has checked the collections in Copenhagen for a Chemnitz type specimen, but this does not invalidate his type designation.
