Remarks

Melvill (1918) states: “we have only seen five or six examples, varying very slightly in size.”

Type evidence: Melvill (1918) did not indicate a unique type in his original description. The NMW lot has a Melvill label with ‘cotype’ written on the box bottom. The figured specimen resides at NHM with another syntype. Based on the fact that Melvill (1918) stated he saw five or six examples, there may be one or two syntypes still to be located in another institution.

Other syntypes:
BM(NH) 1921.1.28.23-24 - figured syntype & syntype.
