Notes on Nomenclature

To size: To 40mm. Shell Structure: Solid. Equivalve: Equivalve. Equilateral: Equilateral. Tumidity: Inflated. Outline: Rhomboidal, higher than long and extended obliquely in the posterior ventral axis; concave anterior dorsal and straight posterior dorsal margins of equal length both sloping steeply; anterior vertical, sinuous; posterior and ventral curved and sinuous. A strong median rounded carina runs from the umbo to the posterior ventral margin, less developed radial ridges run either side developing a sulcate undulating surface.

Sculpture: Of co-marginal lines and irregular undulations. Margin: Inner margin smooth. Ligament: Internal, opisthodetic with a lithodesma. Hinge: RV with a rudimentary tooth. Pallial Musculature: Obscure. Periostracum: Obscure. Colour: Dirty white.
