Shape
Valves cymbelloid with convex dorsal margin, straight ventral margin, and rounded sometimes slightly protracted ends.
Symmetry
Dorsiventral.
Striae
Striae parallel or slightly radiate, slightly convergent towards the poles; areolae are apically elongated slits, few can be y-shaped (SEM).
Axial area
Narrow, linear.
Central area
Indistinct or small rounded, extended on the dorsal side.
Raphe
Slightly curved and displaced towards the ventral margin, with expanded, slightly dorsally bent proximal endings, and ventrally deflected terminal fissures near the poles.
