Morphology
Shape
Valves linear to linear-elliptic with rostrate ends.
Symmetry
Isopolar, bilaterally symmetrical.
Striae
Parallel, slightly radiate near the valve ends.
Axial area
Narrow linear.
Other features
The cingulum consists of several girdle bands open at the opposite ends of the frustule.
SEM morphology
Striae uniseriate with occluded, round areolae.
One rimoportula near one valve end.
Two apical pore fields present.
Smaller and larger interlinking spines present along the valve margin.
Valves linear to linear-elliptic with rostrate ends.
Symmetry
Isopolar, bilaterally symmetrical.
