Morphology
Size
Length 10-ca. 30 µm, width 2.5-4 µm (Hofmann et al. 2011).
Shape
Valves linear-lanceolate with subrostrate ends.
Symmetry
Isopolar, bilaterally symmetrical.
Striae
Punctate, parallel to slightly radiate, 18-25 in 10 µm (Hofmann et al. 2011).
Other features
Large fibulae extending 1/2 or more in smaller valves over the valve face, 5-8 in 10 µm (Hofmann et al. 2011).
SEM morphology
Raphe continuous (no central nodule).
