Morphology
Size
Length 17-35 µm, width 4-6.5 µm (Levkov 2009).
Shape
Valves semi-lanceolate with convex dorsal and straight or slightly concave ventral margin, slightly protracted round ends.
Symmetry
Isopolar, dorsiventral.
Striae
Punctate, radiate, often slightly wider spaced in the central part of the valve, 18-22 in 10 µm (Levkov 2009).
Axial area
Appears narrow in LM.
Central area
Indistinct.
Raphe
Slightly curved with straight or slightly dorsally curved proximal ends, and dorsally deflected distal ends.
SEM morphology
The raphe lies on a partial conopeum which has circular or elongate, irregular depressions.
Striae uniseriate with round to transapically elongate external areola openings, internal areola openings are occluded by hymenes.
Length 17-35 µm, width 4-6.5 µm (Levkov 2009).
