Morphology
Shape
Valves cymbelloid with convex dorsal margin, more or less straight ventral margin, sometimes slightly inflated in the central section, and rounded, sometimes slightly protracted ends.
Symmetry
Dorsiventral.
Striae
Striae slighty radiate dorsally, ventrally slightly radiate in the central section, changing to convergent towards the poles; areolae are apically elongate (SEM) and can be visible in LM; central dorsal stria with a round areola slightly set apart at the central area.
Axial area
Narrow, straight.
Central area
Not differentiated from the axial area.
Raphe
Appears straight, displaced towards the ventral margin, with slightly expanded, slightly dorsally bent proximal endings, and short ventrally deflected terminal fissures near the poles.
