Morphology
Size
25-65 µm long, 9-12.5 µm wide (Lange-Bertalot 2001).
Shape
Valves wide lanceolate with short protracted, acutely rounded ends.
Symmetry
Isopolar, bilaterally symmetrical.
Striae
Radiate, almost parallel at valve ends, 11-13 in 10 µm (Lange-Bertalot 2001).
Axial area
Narrow, linear.
Central area
Large, round central area bordered by (4)5-6(7) shortened striae of different length.
Raphe
Filiform with expanded proximal ends, located distantly from each other.
SEM morphology
Externally, sternum slightly raised above valve surface, proximal raphe ends deflected; internally, additional rib adjacent to raphe.
25-65 µm long, 9-12.5 µm wide (Lange-Bertalot 2001).
Shape
Valves wide lanceolate with short protracted, acutely rounded ends.
Symmetry
Isopolar, bilaterally symmetrical.
Striae
Radiate, almost parallel at valve ends, 11-13 in 10 µm (Lange-Bertalot 2001).

Narrow, linear.
Central area
Large, round central area bordered by (4)5-6(7) shortened striae of different length.
Raphe
