Shape
Valves linear-lanceolate with very long, narrow rostrate ends.

Symmetry
Isopolar, bilaterally symmetrical.

Striae
Very fine, not visible in LM, 60-72 in 10 µm (Krammer & Lange-Bertalot 1988).

Raphe
Not visible in LM.

Other features
Fibulae small and equally spaced in the valve centre, 15-22 in 10 µm (Krammer & Lange-Bertalot 1988).
