Morphology
Shape
Valves narrowly linear-lanceolate, tapering gently to more elongate narrowly protracted apices.
Symmetry
Isopolar, bilaterally symmetrical.
Striae
Not visible, 44-55 in 10 µm (central European populations, Hofmann et al. 2011).
Raphe
Fibulate raphe system at valve margin; fibulae fine, dot-like, interfibular spaces regular, a little longer than the fibulae, 14-19 in 10 µm (central European populations, Hofmann et al. 2011).
Other features
Transition to protracted apices very gentle.
