Shape
Valves linear-lanceolate with rostrate or subcapitate ends.

Symmetry
Isopolar, bilaterally symmetrical.

Valve
Prominent transapical ribs (mostly primary).

Striae
Very fine, not visible in LM.

Axial area
Narrow, linear.


SEM morphology
Striae uniseriate, parallel, slightly radiate near the apical pore field.

Internally prominent transapical ribs.

Two rimoportulae positioned close to the apical pore fields.
