Size
Length 10-60 µm, width 2-3 µm (Hofmann et al. 2011).
Shape
Linear, valve margins tapering gradually from the valve centre to rounded, subrostrate or rostrate ends.
Symmetry
Isopolar, bilaterally symmetrical.
Striae
Parallel, 18-21.5 in 10 µm (Ector et al 2015).
Axial area
Narrow, linear.
Central area
Indistinct, rounded, quadrangular, often asymmentrical.
SEM morphology
Uniseriate striae are positioned opposite or are slightly offset.
Two apical pore fields.
One rimoportula close to a pore field.
Length 10-60 µm, width 2-3 µm (Hofmann et al. 2011).
