Valves linear-lanceolate with rounded ends.

Isopolar, bilaterally symmetrical.

Valve surface undulating (transapically raised and depressed sections).
Striae
Radiate in the valve centre, strongly radiate towards the valve ends.
Axial area
Internally linear, slightly irregular.
Raphe
Raphe slit at the perimeter of the valve, not visible in LM.
SEM morphology
Raphe on a raised keel.
Striae multiseriate with small rounded internal areola openings.
