Morphology
Size
Length 11.5-20.0 µm, width 5.0-7.0 µm (Liu et al. 2017).
Shape
Rhombic-lanceolate with subcapitate ends.
Symmetry
Isopolar, bilaterally symmetrical.
Striae
Punctate, in valve centre parallel or slightly radiate, becoming radiate towards valve ends, 22-24 in 10 µm.
Other features
Large fibulae extending across 1/2 of valve in centre, 6-7 in 10 µm.
SEM morphology
Raphe continuous and eccentric, terminating in small hooks at poles, fibulate raphe system on opposite sides of frustule; striae uniseriate.
