Valves linear-elliptic to elliptic with rounded ends; frustules in girdle view rectangular and bent.
Symmetry
Valves isopolar.
Valve
Frustules heterovalvar with concave raphe valve and convex rapheless valve.
Striae
Striae radiate on the raphe valve, 25-30 in 10 µm; parallel on the rapheless valve, 23-28 in 10 µm.
Axial area
Narrow, linear axial area on both valves.
Central area
Central area on the raphe valve an acute-angled subfascia; central area on the raphle valve indistinct.
Raphe
Simple, filiform with straight, slightly expanded proximal raphe ends, and straight terminal raphe fissures.
