Morphology
Shape
Valves linear-lanceolate; the central part of the valve has concave margins; valve ends subcapitate or capitate.
Symmetry
Isopolar, bilaterally symmetrical.
Striae
Very fine, but just visible in LM, 23-ca. 40 in 10 µm (Krammer & Lange-Bertalot 1988).
Other features
Small fibulae, wider spaced in the valve centre.
