Morphology

Size
Length 22-42 µm, width 4-6.4 µm, frustule width 11-15 µm (Levkov 2009).

Shape
Valves semi-lanceolate with convex dorsal and slightly convex ventral margin; valve ends protracted, capitate, slightly ventrally bent.

Symmetry
Isopolar, dorsiventral.

Striae
Striae on dorsal side parallel to slightly radiate, 16-20 in 10 µm, areolae on dorsal side discernible; ventrally a row of round to slightly elongate areolae, 25-28 in 10 µm (Levkov 2009).

Axial area
Broad axial area, expressed particularly on ventral side.

Central area
Semi-stauros on dorsal side, bordered near dorsal margin by short striae.

Raphe
Raphe slightly arched with dorsally bent, proximal raphe endings.
