Frustules in girdle view flexed with a concave raphe valve and a convex rapheless valve, in valve view elliptic with broadly rounded subrostrate ends.

Radiate on the raphe valve, slightly radiate and punctate on the rapheless valve.

Narrow, sigmoid.
Central area
Small, rhombic on the raphe valve; large, elliptic, extended transapically without reaching the valve margin.

Sigmoid and inclined in relation to the apical axis.

A large H-shaped chloroplast.
