Morphology
Size
30-65 µm long, 27-31 µm wide (Lange-Bertalot et al. 2017).
Shape
Valves ovate, headpole broadly rounded, footpole cuneate in larger valves, becoming more rounded in smaller valves.
Symmetry
Larger valves heteropolar, medium and smaller valves slightly heteropolar, almost oval or round; bilaterally symmetrical.
Striae
Slightly radiate in the valve centre becoming strongly radiate towards the poles, curved towards the footpole.
Axial area
Very narrow, linear.
30-65 µm long, 27-31 µm wide (Lange-Bertalot et al. 2017).
