Nitzschia soratensis E.Morales & M.L.Vis; 2007; 128
Morales E. A., Vis M. L. 2007. Epilithic diatoms (Bacillariophyceae) from cloud forest and alpine streams in Bolivia, South America. Proceedings of The Acadamy of Natural Sciences of Philadelphia. 156: 123-155.
Valves linear-elliptic to elliptic or linear-lanceolate, valve margins in larger valves almost parallel; slightly protracted poles are bluntly rounded.
Isopolar, bilaterally symmetrical.
Uniseriate, parallel to very slightly radiate towards the poles, with round areolae occluded by hymenes (SEM); striae on valve face and mantle terminate in two smaller areolae adjacent to the raphe and form a triplet of small areolae within the raphe canal (SEM); raphe interrupted at the centre (SEM).
Fibulate raphe system at valve margin; fibulae dot-like, interfibular spaces similar except at centre where fibulae are usually wider spaced.
References are given in chronological order.
