Shape
Valves lanceolate, small valves elliptic-lanceolate.

Symmetry
Isopolar, bilaterally symmetrical, heterovalvar.

Striae
Radiate.

Axial area
Narrow, linear.

Central area
On the raphe valve rhombic, small, sometimes irregular to over 1/2 of the valve width, on the rapheless valve large, rhombic, merging with a narrow axial area towards the valve ends.

Raphe
Straight proximal and distal external raphe ends.
