Size
9.0-20.0 µm long, 5.5-7.0 µm wide (type population).

Shape
Valves rhombic with protracted narrowly rounded or acute rostrate apices.

Symmetry
Isopolar, bilaterally symmetrical.

Striae
Striae more or less parallel, alternating, 14-15 in 10 µm.

Axial area
Sternum narrow linear to narrow lanceolate.

Frustules linked forming ribbon-like colonies.
