Shape
Wide lanceolate with rostrate, subcapitate or capitate poles.

Symmetry
Isopolar, bilaterally symmetrical.

Striae
Radiate, uniseriate, transapically elongated areolae are visible in LM.

Axial area
Narrow, linear.

Central area
Small, hardly distinct from the axial area.

Raphe
Straight, filiform; one ridge on either side of the raphe (SEM).

Other features
Small protrusions on the virgae (SEM).
