Morphology
Size
12-25 (36) µm long, 7-11 (15) µm wide (Cvetkoska et al. 2014).
Shape
Valves lanceolate to elliptic-lanceolate with rounded ends.
Symmetry
Isopolar, bilaterally symmetrical.
Striae
Striae radiate 25-30 in 10 µm; in valve centre longer and shorter striae alternate; areolae can be discernible.
Axial area
Narrow, linear.
Central area
Indistinct to small oval.
Raphe
Raphe filiform with expanded, straight central pores and terminal raphe endings deflected in opposite directions.
