Shape
Valves linear-lanceolate with moderately convex dorsal and slightly convex ventral margin; valve ends short protracted, rostrate.

Symmetry
Moderately dorsiventral, isopolar.

Striae
Striae parallel or slightly radiate, dorsal striae in valve centre sometimes more distantly placed.

Axial area
Narrow linear.

Central area
Small rounded or indistinct.

Raphe
Straight, filiform, proximal ends dorsally deflected, distal raphe fissures deflected towards the ventral side.
