Morphology
Size
11-33 µm long, 4-7.5 µm wide (Lange-Bertalot et al. 2017).
Shape
Valves elliptic-lanceolate with short protracted, obtusely rounded, subrostrate to rostrate ends.
Symmetry
Isopolar, bilaterally symmetrical.
Striae
Striae radiate throughout, visible near valve margin, 24-30 in 10 µm (Lange-Bertalot et al. 2017).
Axial area
Narrow, linear.
Central area
Narrow, elongate.
Raphe
Straight with slightly expanded, elongated, distantly spaced central pores, distal fissures unilaterally deflected.
SEM morphology
Valve face partly covered by conopeum, on both sides of raphe a row of densely spaced, fine striae. A furrow present between margins of conopeum and valve face bearing marginal striae.
