Morphology
Shape
Valves linear-elliptic with slightly protracted, broadly rounded poles.
Symmetry
Isopolar, bilaterally symmetrical.
Striae
Striae strongly radiate throughout the valve, curved near the apices, becoming convergent at the apices.
Axial area
Moderately wide, widening towards the central area.
Central area
Round to rhombic, approximately half the valve width, bordered by several shortened, sometimes more widely spaced striae.
Raphe
Slightly undulate with expanded central endings, slightly deflected to the same side; terminal fissures hooked close to the apices.
