Morphology
Size
28-65 µm long, 7.5-10.0 µm wide (Van de Vijver et al. 2020).
Shape
Valves rhombic-lanceolate with cuneate ends.
Symmetry
Bilaterally symmetrical, heteropolar in large valves, and weakly heteropolar in medium-sized valves, becoming almost symmetrical in smaller valves.
Striae
Striae parallel to slightly radiate, 11-12 in 10 µm (Van de Vijver et al. 2020).
Axial area
Axial area narrow-linear.
Central area
Central area unilaterally expanded, bordered by one shortened stria on one side and a slightly shortened stria adjacent to one isolated pore on the opposite side.
Raphe
Raphe distinctly lateral, external raphe branches undulating.
