Morphology

Size
14-29 µm long, 4.5-5.0 µm wide (Van de Vijver et al. 2020).

Shape
Valves linear to linear-elliptic, often slightly asymmetrical, apices protracted, rostrate to subcapitate.

Striae
Striae parallel in central part of valve becoming slightly radiate towards apices, 14-16 in 10 µm (Van de Vijver et al. 2020).

Axial area
Axial area narrow linear, sometimes slightly widening towards central area.

Central area
Central area irregular, asymmetrical due to short or missing striae on one side.
