Morphology

Size
15-30 µm long, 5.0-7.5 µm wide (Van de Vijver et al. 2022).

Shape
Valves lanceolate with cuneate apices.

Symmetry
Isopolar, bilaterally symmetrical.

Striae
Striae slightly radiate throughout entire valve, 26-27 in 10 µm (Van de Vijver et al. 2022), composed of 2-3 clearly discernible, transapically elongated areolae.

Axial area
Narrow linear.

Central area
Small, rounded.

Raphe
Raphe straight, filiform with small, indistinct central raphe endings.


SEM morphology
Low ridge surrounding entire valve face.
Valve face and mantle covered by small papillae located on virgae.
