Morphology
Shape
Valves arcuate, valve margins more or less parallel, but convex dorsal margin slightly more curved than concave ventral margin; ends subcapitate, sometimes blunt, slightly reflexed.
Symmetry
Dorsiventral, isopolar.
Striae
Striae more or less parallel in central part of valve, becoming more radiate towards poles, 19-24 in 10 µm (Lange-Bertalot et al. 2011).
Raphe
Short raphe on mantle, short terminal fissures visible on valve face close to poles.
Valves arcuate, valve margins more or less parallel, but convex dorsal margin slightly more curved than concave ventral margin; ends subcapitate, sometimes blunt, slightly reflexed.
Symmetry
Dorsiventral, isopolar.
Striae
Striae more or less parallel in central part of valve, becoming more radiate towards poles, 19-24 in 10 µm (Lange-Bertalot et al. 2011).
Raphe
Short raphe on mantle, short terminal fissures visible on valve face close to poles.
