Morphology
Shape
Valves arcuate to cresentic with round to very slightly protracted ends; dorsal margin convex, ventral margin almost straight or very slightly concave, sometimes in larger valves dorsal and ventral margins almost parallel.
Symmetry
Dorsiventral, isopolar.
Striae
Striae slightly radiate in the central part of the valve, becoming more radiate towards the poles.
Raphe
Short raphe on mantle, short terminal fissures visible on the valve face close to the poles.
