Morphology

Size
20-53 µm long, 6.0-7.5 µm wide (Reichardt 2015).

Shape
Valves lanceolate to rhombic-lanceolate, slightly gomphonemoid-clavate or naviculoid; margins tapering gradually to cuneate apices.

Symmetry
Bilaterally symmetrical, occasionally slightly asymmetrical along the apical axis in larger valves, heteropolar or weakly heteropolar.

Striae
Striae more or less parallel or slightly radiate, 13-18 in 10 µm (Reichardt 2015).

Axial area
Axial area narrow, linear.

Central area
Central area unilaterally expanded, bordered by one shortened stria on one side and a slightly shortened stria adjacent to one isolated pore on the opposite side. Central striae slightly distantly spaced.

Raphe
Raphe filiform to lateral with indistinct, almost straight raphe endings.
