To size: To 6mm. Shell Structure: Thin, fragile. Equivalve: Slightly inequivalve. Equilateral: Beaks close to the midline. Tumidity: Moderately inflated, umbonate. Outline: Subquadrate almost as high as long, greatest height from umbo to posterior ventral margin. Rostrum very short truncated, posterior sulcus shallow.

Sculpture: Body of shell with commarginal lines and growth stops. Rostrum with 2 thin radial raised ridges. Margin: Inner margin smooth. Ligament: Internal, very small beneath the beaks. Hinge: Lacking any discernable teeth but well preserved specimens may show small cardinal tubercles. Pallial Musculature: Not impressed. Periostracum: Thin, not persisting. Colour: Shell off-white, translucent.

Distribution & Ecology

Known only from the Biscay region. Bathyal, 710-1340m.
