Morphology
Size
10-36 µm long, 7-24 µm wide (Van de Vijver et al. 2024).
Shape
Valves cruciform in larger valves, becoming subovoid or rhomboid in smaller valves; apices broadly rounded.
Symmetry
Larger valves can be slightly heteropolar with one apex slightly wider than the opposite one, smaller valves heteropolar, asymmetrical to the transapical axis.
Striae
Striae slightly radiate or radiate, some slightly curved, alternating, 5-6 in 10 µm (Van de Vijver et al. 2024). Lineolae discernible.
Axial area
Sternum linear to weakly lanceolate.
