Microgloma pusilla (Jeffreys, 1879)
Nuculanoidea : Nuculanidae |
Tebble name: | Phaseolus pusillus (Jeffreys) |
Smith & Heppell name: | Microgloma yongei Sanders & Allen, 1973 |
Notes on Nomenclature
Killeen & Turner (2009) use Nuculanidae instead of Yoldiidae in agreement with Ockelmann & Warén (1998) who explan that the distinguishing characters between these two families has never been well documented. Until the Yoldiidae can be clearly distinguished from the Nuculanidae we shall treat them under the single family Nuculanidae.

Tumid.
Outline:
Broadly elliptical, anteriorly extended; height of shell approximately 70% of the length; dorsal margins straight, relatively long, sloping; posterior margin narrowly rounded, anterior margin more broadly rounded; ventral margin rounded, lunule and escutcheon absent; umbo not prominent, projecting slightly above the dorsal margin, prodissoconch conspicuous.
