Valves elliptic or elliptic-lanceolate.
Symmetry
Isopolar, bilaterally symmetrical.
Striae
Radiate, slightly curved.
Axial area
Narrow, linear.
Central area
Acute-angled subfascia which can be asymmetrical, bordered by 1-3(4) short striae of variable length.
Raphe
Straight with slightly expanded proximal ends and unilaterally deflected distal ends.
SEM morphology
Uniseriate striae with rounded external areola openings and occluded internal areola openings.
Valves elliptic or elliptic-lanceolate.
Symmetry
Isopolar, bilaterally symmetrical.
