Type material: Syntype:- ‘Type’ RBINS.10591 1 spec. (e); Possible Syntype:- NMW.1955.158.24217 1 spec. (e)
Type locality: Commune sous le bois pourri à l’île Dominique (‘Iles Marquises (Polynésie)’ in the title)
Remarks: Garrett (1887: 11) wrote ‘Trochonanina angulifera (Mousson) Ancey’. There is nothing in the paper to define Mousson’s involvement with this name. It is possible that specimens from his collection were used for Ancey’s description. See note 5 (p. 96) about authorship.
Type evidence: The RBINS lot has an Ancey type label bearing the general type locality. The NMW lot has a Geret label bearing the locality Marquises Is. and Tomlin has written that it is ex Ancey, but type is not written on it. Geret’s sales list confirms this specimen came from Ancey’s collection.
