Remarks

Melvill, 1895: “There were, I believe, two specimens of this handsome shell in the collection of the late Sir Barclay, dispersed in 1891.” An interpretation of this would be that Melvill only had one of these specimens on which he has based his description. Trew, 1987:40 listed this specimen as a holotype.
