Remarks

Melvill, 1893: “I have seen nearly thirty specimens of this new form.”

Melvill, 1893 does not indicate that the original description was based on one specimen. Cernohorsky, 1976 and Trew, 1987 listed this specimen as a holotype; in accordance with ICZN Art. 74.6 this is an indirect lectotype selection by inference of holotype (Cernohorsky, 1976: 363).
