Remarks

Wood & Gallichan, 2008:
Type material: Syntypes:- ‘Types’ BPBM.18988 1 spec. (ne); ‘Paratypes’ BPBM.19027 4 spec. coll. Kuhns (ne); Possible Syntypes:- ‘Cotypes’ NMW.1955.158.24087 2 spec. (e)
Type locality: Kaïwicki, Hilo, Hawaii [Kuhns]
Remarks: Ancey (1904e: 117) remarked ‘It is named after its first discoverer, at the request of Mr. Baldwin…’. Not listed in Johnson (1996).
Type evidence: The BPBM type material above is listed following Barker et al. (in sched.). The NMW lot has a Geret cotype label from the type locality and Tomlin has written ‘ex Ancey 1919’. Geret’s sales list confirms the lot came from Ancey’s collection.
