To size: To 40mm. Shell Structure: Solid. Equivalve: Inequivalve. Equilateral: Subequilateral, beaks just behind the midline. Tumidity: Compressed. Outline: Broadly subovate; anterior broadly rounded; posterior dorsal margin long almost straight sloping steeply to short almost truncate posterior; ventral curved. Posterior angle prominent in RV setting off narrow, flat posterior area.
Sculpture: Weakly decussate, co-marginal ridges becoming lamellose over posterior, fading over anterior where radial riblets dominate. Margin: Inner margin smooth. Ligament: Parivincular, a prominent external brown band behind the beaks. Hinge: Hinge with two cardinals in each valve prominent single anterior and posterior laterals in RV, LV with poorly developed laterals. Pallial Musculature: Pallial sinus very deep almost touching anterior adductor scar. Colour: Shell white.
