To size: To 6 mm. Shell Structure: Thin, fragile, translucent. Equivalve: Slightly inequivalve, RV a little larger. Equilateral: Strongly inequilateral, beaks close the the anterior margin. Tumidity: Inflated. Outline: Trapezoidal, sub-modioliform, anterior reduced, rounded; posterior dorsal margin long, straight, at right angle to truncate posterior margin; ventral margin long, straight. Contour: Umbos very prominent; umbo-posterior ventral ridge roundly angulate.
Sculpture: Of radial lines increasing in number with size and overall with dense rows of minute spines; frequently with adhering sediment particles. Margin: Inner margin smooth. Ligament: Small on a lithodesma set just behind the beaks. Hinge: Without teeth. Pallial Musculature: Obscure. Periostracum: Thin. Colour: Dirty white.
