To size:
To 63mm.
Shell Structure:
Robust, thick shelled.
Equivalve:
Equivalve.
Equilateral:
Inequilateral, beaks in front of midline.
Tumidity:
Slightly tumid.
Outline:
Rhomboidal.
Sculpture:
Sculpture consisting of thin concentric grooves and radial ribs to form decussate sculpture.
Margin:
Margin smooth.
Ligament:
Ligament extending from umbo halfway to posterior.
Hinge:
3 cardinals in each valve. No laterals.
Pallial Musculature:
Muscle scars roughly equal: Posterior slightly fatter than anterior. Pallial line extends to midline, rounded.
Periostracum:
Thin, smooth, satin sheen.
Colour:
White. yellow some with purple blotches to posterior internally. External fawn coloured, but with mid- to dark-brown rays/blotches/zigzags.
